I don't have a good answer to your question, but the 2008 short answer question on confluence of sinuses had some interesting bullet points. They're not really fleshed out, but at least they helped me realize that both the dural sinuses and the dural reflections are both made out of parts of the dura mater and therefore are closely related, a self-explanatory concept that I had missed :) but maybe it can help your more intelligent question...

Confluence of the sinuses
* bone topography occipital bone
* marginal sinus
* falx cerebri and superior sagittal sinus
* falx cerebri and tentorium cerebelli - straight sinus
* tentorium cerebelli and transverse sinus
* falx cerebelli and occipital sinus
* Superior sagittal sinus deviates to right transverse
