Although not explicitly stated in the dissector, you have dissected the vertebral triangle. The vertebral triangle resurfaces on Tuesday as part of the prevertebral region. Please note that the apex is the carotid tubercle (C6), the medial boundary is longus colli, the lateral boundary is the anterior scalene, and the inferior boundary is the first rib. The anterior boundary is prevertebral fascia and the posterior boundary is prevertebral fascia. Please note that the vertebral triangle is a gold mine region for critical relationships. In fact, if you were asked to discuss contents and relationships the answer would certainly qualify for a 12 pointer.
