: Greetings and Salutations!

: Can someone please explain to me why flexion is more defined than extention on the digits? Dr. Zagon mentioned something in lecture about how on the plantar surface, every digit has individual control? I missed the point in lecture

Flexion if more defined because there is a better tendon attachment at the bottom of each phalangy. this allows for greater control at each of the separate joints. Digit 1 has its own muscles for both flexion and extension where digit 2-5 have the same muscles for both, but digit 5 only has muscles for flexion. I think that were going to talk more about this concept tomorrow in lecture... hopefully
Cheers
