: Looking at my notes, if that picture is on the first page after the list, I believe it was a representative picture of a joint, with generic terms for any "articular capsule", "articular cartilage", etc. The same picture comes up again 5 pages later with the specific terms for the knee. In this case, the "articular meniscus" labeled on the first picture happens to be the medial meniscus.
: To answer Dr. Zagon's questions, the way I understand it, the arcuate and oblique popliteal ligaments, as well as the popliteus, are all extracapsular. The medial meniscus is attached to the tibial collateral ligament, while the lateral meniscus is unnattached to the lateral collateral ligament.
